Wokai is an organization that allows people to contribute directly to microfinance institutions in China which in turn lend the money to entrepreneurs in rural China. Wokai is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Oakland, with core operations in Beijing, supported by individual donors, corporate sponsorships, fundraising events and grants.

Educating Girls of Rural China (EGRC)
EGRC was founded in 2005 and is a Registered Canadian Charity. In 7 years EGRC has raised funds in Canada and Hong Kong; sponsored 286 young women from impoverished rural areas of Gansu Province in Northwest China to receive university education. There are currently 170 students in EGRC’s sponsorship program, studying in 96 different universities in over 30 cities throughout China. 116 of the students graduated since 2009.

World Wildlife Fund WWF China
The first international conservation organization invited to work in China; WWF has been active here since 1980, when Dr. George Schaller arrived to work with Chinese scientists on giant panda conservation. WWF CPO’s principal aim is to offer solutions that will simultaneously reduce China’s global impact and improve livelihoods here.

World Pheasant Association
The World Pheasant Association (WPA) is a registered charity founded in 1975 which aims to develop and promote the conservation of all the species within the order of the Galliformes, otherwise known as the game birds. Apart from pheasants, this also includes partridges, grouse, quail, francolins, megapodes and cracids, some of which are the most beautiful, yet threatened birds in the world.
